The course objective is the presentation and explanation of biological cycle of plants. The plant structure, the mechanisms of survival, the basic system of international classification, and the methods of propagation are described. The role of nurseries in the production of plant propagation material is also discussed. The morphological characteristics of the plants and their cultivation methods are described, and general advice is given for a successful planting and use in the open, according to the different environments where they are to be used.
