Kleo Axarli

Kleo Axarli is professor at the School of Architecture, where she lectures, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, in topics relevant to architectural technology and design of energy efficient buildings. She is also director of the Architectural Technology Laboratory which is an accredited and European Union Notified Laboratory for building materials and products tests for thermal and sound insulation.

She is Scientific Director of the postgraduate studies programme “Environmental design of cities and buildings” of the Hellenic Open University, and Scientific Coordinator of the postgraduate programme “Architectural Design with environmental criteria” offered by the Dept of Architecture, in the topic of bioclimatic design of buildings.

Her research activity is mainly related to the topics of sustainable design of buildings and open spaces, passive heating, cooling and lighting systems. She has published books and articles in scientific magazines and has participated in numerous conferences. She has also been involved in several research programmes concerning energy issues and sustainable design techniques.
