Georgios Zoidis

George Zoidis, Architect dipl. Engineer, Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, was born and raised in Thessaloniki and studied architecture and human sciences at the Technical University of West Berlin. He worked with architectural offices in Berlin and Athens while subsequently he returned to Thessaloniki where he retains an architectural design office until today. He deals with design and supervision of private and public works (projects) and he has been awarded in national and international architectural competitions, especially in those relating to organizing, management, renovation and upgrade of urban spaces. His works have been published in Greek and international architectural journals.

He offered his services in several areas of public life and he worked as technical consultant in public and private institutions, e.g. to municipal enterprises on issues of preserving urban spaces.   Object of his teaching in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Architecture was the architectural design at all scales, from the building unit to the reshaping (enhancing) of urban ensembles. The same object he continues to teach as Professor Emeritus at the interdepartmental postgraduate program of Landscape Architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
