Prof. Nikolaos Silleos is an Emeritus Professor in the Lab of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, School of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is an agronomist with extensive background in soil science, photo interpretation, remote sensing and GIS, in mapping natural and agricultural resources (soil and vegetation), desertification risk assessment, crop damage estimation with satellite remote sensing, and land evaluation. He has been project manager for more than 30 national and international research projects and has authored more than 100 journal and conference papers.
