Dr. Ioannis A. Tsalikidis is a Professor of Landscape Architecture, Director of the Laboratory of Floriculture at the School of Agriculture as well as Dep. Head of the Joint Postgraduate Program ‘Landscape Architecture’ at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
His published work includes over 100 essays and papers and 6 books on Landscape Architecture and Land Use Planning. He has supervised 11 PhDs and over 20 postgraduate and 80 undergraduate dissertation theses.
As the main representative of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at ECLAS (European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools), he has collaborated with various Universities, i.e. GSD, Harvard University, and Greek Municipalities. His scientific and educational interests focus on sustainable landscape design, green infrastructure and landscape ecology as a contemporary tool for landscape analysis, planning and management.
His applied work includes designing numerous gardens, public open spaces and planning green networks in urban and suburban areas.
